As the reader, my primary goal is to help and entertain you. This goal is what I strive for in every article, story, or book.
As an attorney, I watched a great many families destroy each other through divorce and custody fights, but one day I was able to assist a couple in building a family through adoption. It is funny when I look back at how that first adoption ultimately changed the course of my life. I began to assist other families with adoptions and soon was building my own family through adoption. My husband and I were lucky enough to add three children to our family through adoption.
Now I am the proud mother of six children and the grandmother to beautiful boys.
With six children, I began to face learning styles and problems individually and in mass. Some of the issues we have addressed in my home are: gifted, dysgraphia, autism spectrum, hearing and vision loss. Frustration grew within me as I realized I would need to fight daily to find the resources and products that I needed to help my children. At the height of that frustration, in fact, it was during a horrible tantrum that I sat down and realized that I couldn't be alone in this battle. I realized there had to be other parents, step parents, grandparents who were fighting to find help for their children and were hitting the proverbial wall.
That is when I decided to share with you the resources, joy, and frustrations of making it day to day in a house full of children.
I can honestly say it has been the most challenging journey of my life, but also the most rewarding.
